Adam recently celebrated his first year with Smartlink and has already made a huge impact on his team and the projects he supports.
A Day in the Life of a Construction Project Manager
For Adam, every day starts with setting his team up for success. He begins by pulling new reports from the client database, ensuring the construction managers have the information they need to kick off the day. From there, no two days are ever quite the same.
Depending on the needs of the projects, Adam wears many hats—whether it’s reviewing A&E documents, working through ongoing construction issues, updating clients, or managing closeouts. He thrives on collaboration and communication, often engaging in multiple conversations with clients throughout the day to ensure projects stay on track.
Learning from Experience
One of the most exciting projects Adam is currently working on is based in New England. He finds it particularly interesting because it allows him to see how sites differ—and how they’re often similar—in unique ways. For Adam, every site is an opportunity to learn something new that can help on future projects.
“I frequently quote ‘past experiences play a big role in future experiences.’ That experience helps us deliver for our customers and that’s my favorite part of the job—delivering well and getting positive feedback from the client to share with my team,” Adam shares.
The Power of a ‘Yes’ Mentality
Reflecting on his first year at Smartlink, Adam notes that the company culture and his team’s mindset have made all the difference. “I’ve learned that when a team has a ‘yes’ mentality, anything is possible. It makes all the difference being on a team with that mentality.”
