Amber joined Smartlink after a fast-paced career as a 911 Police Dispatcher, where there was never a dull moment. That intensity prepared her well for the ever-evolving world of telecom, where adaptability is key and strong communication is essential.
In her current role, Amber is more than just an HR pro—she’s a trusted resource, a thoughtful teammate, and a driving force behind employee wellness and engagement. “My role has taught me how essential strong communication is, and the importance of building trust and being a reliable point of contact for employees,” she shares.
Amber’s journey at Smartlink is marked by courage and confidence. One of her proudest moments? Tackling a zoning meeting solo during her first week on the job, representing a client on behalf of our Net Development team—and securing zoning approval! Equally important to her is being part of a dedicated HR team working behind the scenes to streamline processes and strengthen the employee experience.
When asked for advice to new employees, Amber doesn’t hesitate: “Ask questions!” She explains, “Telecom is a fluid industry. You have to be able to adapt, and that starts with being okay with not knowing everything on day one.” It’s a mindset that has served her—and so many others—well in this dynamic environment.
Her personal motto? “Everything happens for a reason.” It’s a reflection of her steady optimism and the trust she puts in the journey—even the unpredictable parts.
