Job Summary: The Fiber Technician I conducts and supports fiber optic installation, mid-to advanced level splicing, and testing activities in data center environments. This role focuses on developing technical skills while assisting with routine fiber work, equipment setup, and documentation. Must demonstrate proficiency in performing test procedures utilizing different types of test equipment. Work must be performed safely, accurately, and in accordance with company and industry standards.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
•Perform mid-to advanced level to advanced fiber optic splicing, including basic ribbon and single-fiber splices.
•Perform mid-to advanced level fiber testing using VFLs and power meters under guidance.
•Support senior technicians with troubleshooting and equipment setup.
•Maintain accurate documentation for splices, test results, and project records.
•Follow safety procedures and industry standards during all work activities (TIA-568, IEC, Telcordia).
•Properly handle, clean, and maintain Fujikura 90R and other splicing tools and test equipment.
•Ensure all actions reflect the company’s professional, ethical, and operational standards.
•Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements: To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily. •High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification a plus.
•1+ year of experience in fiber optic installation, splicing, or related work preferred.
•Proficient in working with 200-micron ribbon fiber and foundational data center network architectures such as Base-16.
•Basic knowledge of fusion splicers (Fujikura, Sumitomo) preferred.
•Ability to work safely in confined spaces and at heights.
•Strong attention to detail, quality work and willingness to learn advanced techniques.
•Valid driver’s license, clean driving record and ability to travel as needed.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
•Ability to stand, sit and walk for extended periods of time and long distances, bend, reach, and carry items weighing up to 50 lbs.
•Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force.
•Subject to indoor environmental conditions.
•Regular and extended travel.
