Job Summary:
Working as a Field Technician II within Smartlink’s Technology Solutions Division, this role supports wireless telecommunications infrastructure projects across a variety of environments, including in-building systems, rooftops, and tower sites (no cell tower climbing required). The ideal candidate brings strong teamwork experience, customer-facing skills, and hands-on expertise in fiber installation activities, including fiber pulling, cable dressing, and project closeouts. Experience with fiber testing is preferred. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  
• Install, assemble, integrate, program, maintain, decommission, and repair wireless telecommunications and network equipment and systems, including:  
• CAT5 and CAT6 cabling, routers, twisted pair, optical fiber, and assorted power and data cabling routed through conduit, cable trays, above ceilings, and between floors. 
• DC power plants and rectifiers, LMUs, BTS equipment (2G, 3G, and 4G), MCPAs, RF filters, duplexers, backhaul systems (copper, fiber, and microwave), and network routers. 
• Perform all functions related to standard cell site acceptance, including equipment receiving, installation, and cabling.  
• Serve as a project lead when required, maintaining project trackers and providing regular status updates to management.  
• Proactively identify and address internal and external issues in partnership with supervisors, offering effective and timely solutions.  
• Conduct required testing and validation procedures using a variety of test equipment.  
• Perform all tasks in compliance with company policies, OEM requirements, customer specifications, and established safety practices.  
• Fabricate, terminate, and label cables and connectors to quality and performance standards.  
• Deliver excellent customer service to internal teams and external clients.  
• Complete, maintain, and process all required documentation, job records, and reports accurately and on time.  
• Maintain thorough and accurate project files, trackers, and documentation while providing consistent communication to management.  
• Properly operate, maintain, and care for multiple types of test equipment; report calibration or repair needs as required.  
• Effectively manage project deliverables, timelines, risks, and dependencies in accordance with the statement of work (SOW).  
• Provide training and guidance on policies, procedures, and technical tasks to teammates as needed.  
• Other duties as assigned 

Qualifications & Requirements: 
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. 
• Minimum of four (4) years of related experience and/or technical training; an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. 
• Strong technical and mechanical aptitude; experience with wireless telecommunications fiber installation, router upgrades, system integration, testing, troubleshooting, and DC power installation, modification, and upgrades is preferred. 
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills with 
consistent attention to detail. 
• Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and relevant telecommunications testing equipment. 
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and during non-standard hours as required by project demands. 
• Ability to work independently, troubleshoot issues, and resolve technical challenges with minimal supervision. 
• Customer-service oriented with demonstrated team leadership experience. 
• Dependable, self-motivated, and eager to learn additional technical skills. 
• Professional appearance and conduct at all times. 
• Reliable personal vehicle for local travel. 

Physical Requirements:
• Ability to stand, walk, or hike for extended periods and cover long distances as required. 
• Ability to bend, reach, climb, and safely lift, carry, or handle items weighing up to 25 pounds. 

Travel Requirements
• Extensive local travel (greater than 75%) is required for this position.
